The city’s most iconic café

A legend has returned to the city

Known as the Heineken Hoek since the late 1950s, this corner has long been a much-loved staple of Leidseplein, known to all for the beer glasses billboard on the roof of the building. Locals and visitors to Amsterdam knew their way to this iconic café, a friendly place where everyone got to kick back and enjoy a beer, or two.

After the old building made way for a new one, the Heineken Hoek returned in November 2024 to the place where it all began, at Leidseplein 19. With a Grand Café on the ground floor and the Bistro on the first floor, it brings back the nostalgia of bygone times, updated to modern standards. We look forward to welcoming you!
